TROPHY

The trophy, a modernly designed wheel, celebrates the history of one of the world’s most prestigious cycling events. The wheel represents one of the essential parts of the bicycle: it embodies its continuous movement, effort and determination. In addition to its practical significance, the wheel carries a broader symbolic value: it is the mark of a journey that is renewed year after year, as is Il Lombardia, with its routes full of climbs and, simultaneously, always ready to launch new protagonists onto a world-class stage. With this trophy, Il Lombardia continues to carry on its tradition, offering a tangible symbol that unites past, present and future.

MASCOT

The mascot comes from the idea of representing Il Lombardia through an animal closely associated with the region: the kestrel. This small bird of prey, with its graceful flight, agility and ability to survey the landscape from above, becomes a symbol of the spirit of the race. The concept brings together the region of Lombardy, nature and cycling, turning the kestrel into a distinctive, dynamic and approachable character. The kestrel is part of Lombardy's natural landscape, symbolising the race's connection with nature, while its flight evokes lightness, freedom, speed and movement. Its agility reflects the skills of a cyclist, who must constantly adapt to changes of pace and tackle climbs and descents. Its bird's-eye view highlights the connection with the landscape and the sweeping panoramas along the roads of Il Lombardia. Finally, green and white, the colours associated with Lombardy, are incorporated into the character's sportswear, reinforcing its regional identity.
